Point in Time Count

Measuring homelessness across Prince Edward Island to better understand community needs and guide future solutions.

What is a Point in Time Count?

A Point in Time (PiT) Count provides a snapshot of homelessness in a community during a single 24-hour period. It captures information on individuals experiencing sheltered, unsheltered, and hidden homelessness to better understand the scope and nature of homelessness across Prince Edward Island.

By combining a community-wide count with a standardized survey, PiT Counts help organizations and governments make informed decisions about housing, support services, and future planning.
